I agree your experience fits the expected experience given the way the world is burning... but also curious if you might have been clustered into a TikTok interest-cluster which is served such videos? Strangely, I haven't seen even one such video. TikTok doesnt make it easy to count aggregates, so a {Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency} statistic is hard to gauge on this phenomenon.

Regardless, sad world we live in, because even one of these is too many. And 45yrs in, things only keep getting worse.

I agree that there's probably some algorithm bias at play here, but seeing these videos got me thinking more broadly about how platforms like TikTok might serve a new role in this deteriorating world where people need help and there's no where else to turn. I also found it interesting that Tiktok recently updated its policy around begging on live streams, which I think indicates a growing "problem" on the platform.
